Making a Difference with Junior League of Yakima
June 04, 2014
Lacey Offutt and Rachel Saimons of Halverson Northwest Law Group recently became active members of the Junior League of Yakima. They joined a new member class of more than 40 women from Yakima who became active members in 2014. During the past year Lacey and Rachel, as part of the new member class, worked with local non-profit Voices for Children to create a store atmosphere where foster youth can shop, with vouchers, for new or like-new clothing. As members of the Junior League of Yakima, they join an organization of over 250 women that has been working in the Yakima community for 80 years.
The Junior League of Yakima is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Currently the Junior League runs Kids in the Kitchen, a program for youth which teaches them how to cook and create nutritious snacks and foods, and teaches them about healthy choices in both nutrition and activities. Halverson Northwest is proud to have Lacey and Rachel join the Junior League and further become involved in the Yakima community.
